Carrie Longton

Please join us for our next Christian Business Leaders breakfast on Friday, 18th June 2021 at 8:00am when we welcome Carrie Longton, co-founder of Mumsnet, speaking on “How to evangelise without getting sacked.”

When Carrie founded Mumsnet – the UK’s most popular website for parents – 20 years ago, she didn’t even own a computer but was looking for a change from her television career and a job that would fit around her children. “We had this idea that if you start your own business, you could work from home, have meetings in a jacuzzi or at the gym, and it would just be really easy!”

When Carrie left Mumsnet in 2018, the site was being visited by 12 million unique users every month. In 2013, Carrie was listed 7th in BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour Power List of the 100 most powerful women in the UK beating Nicola Sturgeon and JK Rowling to name just a few.  Before Mumsnet, Carrie worked as a TV producer for 10 years but more recent projects have included mentoring small businesses, working to help regenerate her home town of Blackpool and fundraising to build a Christian centre in north London for young people coming out of care. Carrie lives in London with her husband and three children.

We hope you can make it and look forward to seeing you on the 18th! Please contact us here to notify us of your attendance and receive the Zoom link.
